Teachings, Trainings and Travel

With Kate Bee

We roll, crawl, kneel, squat, breathe and feel in order to be attentive, resilient, intelligent movers, thinkers and collaborators;

In order to know ourselves.

Hatha yoga uses the body as a gateway—

A yogic posture practice is aimed at slowing the mind and tapping into sensation through breath and movement. Many benefits result; stronger body, increased range of motion, stable joints, less reactionary/more responsive actions, increased capacity to focus and concentrate…but this is BIG Y Yoga and so the aim is self realization.

Self Realization - The act of discerning the mechanics of your perceptions in order to discover the truth of who you are and what your purpose is.

The teaching of Yoga happens now

- Sutra 1.1

I am not interested in limiting my experience of Yoga to doing postures, especially if those shapes disregard my body’s physical limits and inherent wisdom. The practices you find here are rooted in functional movement and are aimed at teaching you how to cultivate strength, diversify your movement and a gain sensitivity without sacrificing peace of mind.

I am here for you, so you don’t have to compromise stability, to help you become a more resilient human, and tap into aspects of yourself you didn't’t know were possible.

“I have been practicing Yoga since 99 and teaching folks since 2011.  My teaching philosophy revolves around cultivating resilience, kindness, and self-realization… I believe deeply in the profound philosophies of yoga and other perennial traditions and challenge these big ideas to make practices that are simple and accessible. I couldn't care less about flashy yoga poses; instead, I’m interested in strong, sensitive, functional bodies, kind hearts and non-judgmental minds. I believe that if each of us do the inner work we create a ripple effect that leads to larger communities that are also functional, kind and non-judgmental. For me this is about revolution; and the revolution is aimed at self realization. Simple actions can change the culture and climate of how we live here together and it starts with each of us as individuals and how we choose to show up; how we move, how we breath and how we think.
