Cool Folks Doing Cool Shit In and Around St. Louis

DINA FACHIN

I am a yoga, meditation teacher, and visual artist. I have always been curios about the integration of body and mind in the cultivation of long term well-being, and mindfulness meditation was the first door into my explorations.

During my Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher training, I became especially interested in body awareness, so I began to revisit my yoga practice as a vehicle of self-inquiry and physical transformation. Taking yoga lessons and deciding to sign up for the Circle Yoga Shala Foundational 200 hours accrediteed teacher training at Cherokee Street Yoga Collective was one of the best gifts I could ever give myself! I could finally see how different dimensions of my life converged: taking action on the mat, doing art, facilitating mindfulness meditation and creative expression were like threads of the same fabric that seamlessly wove together.

As a practitioner and teacher, I am deeply committed to this ancient practice in its full expression and in the myriad ways in which anyone can adapt it to their own individual needs and bio-mechanics. I am interested in teaching anyone that wants to come to the mat with curiosity, enthusiasm, and , why not…skepticism too! I especially like working with middle aged and older adults: I am currently teaching a weekly class at HorsleyArts in Saint Louis CWE, and it is a joy to see how practitioners oftentimes begin to “rediscover” their own bodies and minds, and are so eager to forge new and healthy relationships with them.

Besides groups, I am also looking into offering private, couple and family classes at the clients’ homes or virtually. I teach in English, but I can also give classes in Spanish and in Italian.

CHRIS SINAK

I started practicing yoga while living abroad in my twenties. I was especially drawn to heart-opening postures, breath-work, and meditation that helped me heal a fraught relationship with my body. Eager to share the impact of the practice with others, I completed my two-hundred hour yoga teacher training with Circle Yoga Shala's affiliate school in st. louis. I wholeheartedly believe yoga can happen anywhere, right now, for all beings.

Off the mat, I am a registered dietitian in private practice specializing in the treatment of eating disorders through an embodied lens. The teachings of yoga have helped me show up in all spheres of life with more presence, vulnerability, and openness. Look out for my teachings - I plan to introduce a class for individuals in eating disorders recovery.
